Brand-new hip belt for Gossamer Gear backpacks Gorilla  and Mariposa, which is now available in two versions—straight and curved.

As with all new Gossamer Gear backpacks, there has been a change in material here as well. Now it uses 100% recycled 70D Robic Nylon. The most significant change, however, is the completely redesigned shape of the hip belt. The Straight version is already quite contoured compared to its predecessor, so it fits much better. But if you want an even more anatomically shaped hip belt, there’s the Curve version.

The hip belt has great, large pockets that comfortably fit a phone, a small compact camera, a snack bar, etc. The size of the pockets corresponds to each hip belt size.

Replacing the hip belt is now a breeze. Gone are the two tunnels into which the hip belt used to slide; now there’s just an aluminum arch at the bottom of the backpack, so swapping it out takes about a minute. Check out the video below.

• M (for hip circumference 76–146 cm), 256 g.
• L (for hip circumference 86–156 cm), 309 g.

Curve:

• S/M (for hip circumference 72–142 cm), 272 g.
• M/L (for hip circumference 85–152 cm), 299 g.
