The Rab Veil 1 running waist pack is part of Rab’s new running collection, which is truly impressive! Over the years we’ve spent running and hiking in the mountains, we’ve tried a whole range of vests and waist packs from other brands, but with virtually all of them, we’ve always run into some limitations or poorly designed details. With Rab, however, it’s clear at first glance that serious thought went into the design, and every detail makes sense and is fully functional. You can feel in the DNA of this entire running collection that fell running—or mountain running in general—is simply in the British blood.

Ultra-lightweight, durable, and extremely breathable material

A key feature of the Rab Veil 1 waist pack is the Ripstop Mono Mesh material used, which is essentially an extremely lightweight, durable, and breathable mesh that absorbs almost no moisture. Mono Mesh is 50% lighter and absorbs up to 70% less moisture than most similar mesh fabrics. Thanks to this material, you stay dry and, most importantly, don’t overheat unnecessarily, as is the case with other, more robust materials used by other manufacturers.

Stays in place like a charm

The Rab Veil 1 waist pack attaches around the waist with a Velcro strap.  Because the waist pack covers a larger area at the back, it stays perfectly in place even during really fast runs. Nothing gets in the way, nothing chafes, nothing bounces—it simply conforms perfectly to the shape of your body. If you’re slim enough that the strap is too long, you can easily tuck the excess under the mesh pocket so it doesn’t get in the way.

Plenty of storage space

A great inner zippered pocket is perfect for storing keys or a phone. It’s cleverly separated by waterproof material so the pocket doesn’t get wet from a sweaty back. The large main pocket, with a capacity of 1 liter, can hold a smaller soft bottle or perhaps a snack and a windbreaker. On both sides of the waist pack are easily accessible pockets made of stretchy mesh, which can easily hold a energy bar or gels that you’ll want to keep close at hand during a race. On the outside, there’s another spacious mesh pocket that’s accessible from both sides. This is ideal for storing a windbreaker, for example, so you can easily reach for it at any time. Four loops can be used to attach additional gear by threading an extra "elastic cord" through them.
