The Inov-8 Parkclaw G280 was developed for runners who frequently switch between road and light trail running. For Czech-style mountains, where you might run on paved roads for a while and then switch to easy forest trails, the Parkclaw G280 is the ideal companion.

Graphene outsole

This shoe is a direct successor to the Parkclaw 260 model but has undergone several changes. The outsole is made of a G-GRIP graphene compound and features a fine tread pattern that provides excellent grip and durability on asphalt. It also performs reliably on light terrain. The 4-millimeter tread depth, combined with aggressive tread shaping, is sufficient for running on dirt roads, forest trails, or footpaths. The density of the tread pattern ensures a large contact area that won’t let you down even on wet, slippery asphalt, where classic trail shoes often struggle.

Comfort First

The cushioning layer consists of G-FLY graphene foam, which provides the shoe with comfort, stability, and dynamism. The cushioning thickness in the heel reaches 18 mm with an 8 mm drop. Thanks to the properties of G-FLY—primarily its dimensional stability and high elasticity—the PARKCLAW G 280 feels much lighter. As a result, you get a shoe with top-notch comfort even during very long road runs, yet one that offers exceptional flexibility, responsiveness, and proprioception. These features will help you not only read and feel the terrain beneath your feet but also work on your running technique, as the feedback is immediate and precise despite the thicker cushioning layer.

Lightweight and breathable mesh

The upper consists of a structured mesh with light instep stabilization and a more robust toe cap. The result is a lightweight and highly durable upper that doesn’t hinder even a brisk pace while handling uneven terrain and obstacles much better than a pure road version. Here, too, we incorporate elements familiar from road shoes, adapting them for running on light terrain. In short, a versatile gravel concept through and through. The shoe has a last width rating of 4, making it one of the widest models from Inov-8. In reality, it even seems a bit wider to us than, for example, the most popular model Trail Talon 290.

Choosing the Right Size

When choosing running shoes, we recommend selecting a size at least one size larger than your usual shoe size. This will help you avoid blisters, pressure sores, and other discomforts. If you’re looking for shoes primarily for long-distance treks, a larger size is an absolute must—we often recommend choosing shoes up to a size and a half larger. Prolonged exertion on challenging terrain puts significant strain on your feet, causing them to swell quickly. What feels comfortable during a short training session or a weekend hike is often insufficient for a multi-day trek.

When choosing a larger size, however, it is absolutely essential that your heel stays secure in the shoe. If your heel “slips around,” tightening the laces usually won’t solve the problem—in that case, we recommend choosing a different type or model of shoe. A properly fitting shoe is the foundation of comfort and the prevention of pressure points and blisters.
