The RabAscendor Alpine pants are designed specifically for mountain climbing. They are the heaviest model in the Ascendor climbing line and offer the greatest thermal comfort for winter climbing.

Like the entire "Ascendor" family, they are made from the proven Matrix™ material, which is also used, for example, in Rab bestsellers Borealis Jacket or Torque pants. For the Ascendor Alpine model, Rab used a heavier 237 g/m² fabric with a brushed inner surface to improve insulation. The Matrix™ softshell is stretchy and abrasion-resistant, highly breathable, and provides excellent wind protection. It also features a DWR finish for basic water protection.

The pants feature a perfectly tailored slim fit, anatomically shaped knees, and a gusseted crotch, ensuring unrestricted movement even during the most challenging climbing maneuvers. You can vent excess heat through two zippered vents on the thighs, covered with mesh. This prevents snow from getting in, unlike with open vents.  A high, elastic waistband with suspenders adds to the overall comfort. These can, of course, be detached and replaced with a standard belt.

These already abrasion-resistant pants are reinforced with even stronger material on the inner ankle for greater durability when used with crampons, or to protect against cuts from ski edges during ski mountaineering. In addition,   Rabu also adapted  the pant legs, equipping them with an inner gaiter featuring an elastic hem and a locking ring to prevent slippage. The outer leg is then equipped with a classic zippered gusset. However, for pure ski mountaineering enthusiasts, we offer the specialized Khroma Ascendor.

You can conveniently store your essentials in two zippered pockets. With the Rab Ascendor Alpine, you get durable, high-performance pants that will reliably protect you from the elements, whether you’re climbing a snow-covered couloir or battling the elements on alpine north faces.
