The Rab Torque is essentially the equivalent of the popular Borealis, but for your legs—the Matrix SWS™ fabric is windproof yet breathable and feels as comfortable against the skin as "sweatpants." The knee and ankle areas, reinforced with the tougher Matrix DWS™ fabric, provide the necessary durability where it’s needed. The elastic bottom hem and zipper allow you to wear the pants either loose or snug around your legs/boots.
The three zippered pockets are a delight for us chronic handkerchief and map carriers.
These pants are incredibly durable and hard to beat, which is why I packed them for a nearly 5,000 km trek along the mountain spine of the American continent—CDT.
According to the manufacturer, these are climbing pants, but they work great for trekking, ski mountaineering, cross-country skiing, and even cycling—I think the guys from Bikepacking.cz
