When I first got my hands on the Rab Cinder Jersey, I thought to myself that if this piece didn’t make me faster, at least I’d look good while doing it ;-).

And lo and behold—it did both. Well... sort of.

The fabric is lighter than my excuses for not going out for a ride today. The jersey breathes better than I do after the first hill and wicks away sweat so effectively that I suspected there were secret fans. Simply put, the “mapping” of the Motiv™ fabric in two weights, combined with laser-cut ventilation holes, works brilliantly. And the fit? It fits like a glove (the comfortable kind, not the cheap one from an online store for two hundred).

The back pockets hold more than a first-grader’s backpack—a banana, a bar, a phone, tools, a midlife crisis. And the silicone hem does such a good job that the jersey stays in place even during descents, when my braking resembles hysterical pounding on the brakes rather than technique.

As for the look, this jersey works wonders—I almost look like a pro on the bike. Until I stop and start panting like a locomotive after a heart attack.
