Jetboil is one of the most efficient cooking systems on the market. At the heart of the system is the FluxRing® heat exchanger, which concentrates heat within the exchanger to reduce cooking time and increase efficiency up to 80%. By comparison, standard gas stoves have an efficiency of 30–40%. This means you’ll use far less gas, so you won’t have to constantly buy new cartridges!

Everything you need comes in a single package. The base is a 1.8-liter cooking pot with a FluxRing® heat exchanger. It comes with a neoprene insulated sleeve with a handle to prevent burns. The pot has a handy silicone lid with a spout and drainage holes. It also has an opening for a coffee filter, which can be purchased separately. This gives you a great option for making filtered coffee on the go!

The most essential part of the brewing system is the burner with piezo ignition and flame control. Just one click of the integrated igniter and you’ll have a liter of hot water in about 4 minutes! Simply place the container on the burner and twist it to lock it in place so it won’t fall over. The entire brewing system is quite tall, so the package includes a plastic, foldable tripod as standard to make the whole system more stable and prevent it from tipping over.

Compactness is, of course, a key feature, so the entire system is designed to fit inside the container. It can hold a small 100-gram cartridge, as well as a large 230-gram cartridge, the burner, and the plastic stabilizing tripod. You get a complete cooking system that measures 130 x 210 mm when folded. All you need to do is snap the plastic cover onto the pot’s heat exchanger; this cover doubles as both a cup and a measuring cup.

Boiling time

The manufacturer states that the average time to bring 1 liter of water to a boil is 4 minutes and 15 seconds (when using Jetboil cartridges).  A 230-gram cartridge can boil up to 24 liters of water! According to available tests and reviews, the most optimal efficiency is achieved when the valve is set to approximately 70%. Thanks to the pressure valve (open the valve fully; the stove continuously releases the appropriate amount of gas under any conditions to achieve the most efficient boiling).
