Jetboil is one of the most efficient cooking systems on the market. At the heart of the system is the FluxRing® heat exchanger, which concentrates heat into the exchanger, reducing cooking time and increasing efficiency up to 80%. By comparison, standard gas stoves have an efficiency of 30–40%. This means you’ll use far less gas, so you won’t have to constantly buy new cartridges!

Everything you need is, as always, in one compact package. The core component is a 0.8-liter anodized aluminum pot with a FluxRing® heat exchanger. The pot features a neoprene insulated sleeve with a loop for easy and safe handling. It also includes a silicone-coated lid with a spout, strainer holes, and an opening for a coffee filter, which can be purchased separately. To the container adapter, simply snap on the plastic cover, which also serves as a mug with a measuring cup.

The most essential part is the burner, which, unlike its sibling the Flash, lacks piezo ignition; therefore, you’ll need a lighter, matches, or a fire starter to light it. The container is then simply placed on the burner and locked in place by turning it, giving you a stable system that won’t tip over. For even better stability, it’s ideal to attach a plastic tripod to the cartridge.

For 2025, the Zipu burner has undergone a major overhaul. So what’s new? First and foremost, it has more power! The grip section has been completely redesigned so that the entire assembly has a sturdier construction and significantly more comfortable grip and handling. Also new is a rotary valve with a precise position indicator.  

The container is designed to hold the burner, a 100-gram gas cartridge, and a plastic tripod. This gives you a complete set measuring 108 x 165 mm.

Cooking in practice

According to the manufacturer, it takes an average of 2 minutes to bring 0.5 liters of water to a boil (when using Jetboil cartridges). This time will, of course, vary under different conditions. A single 100-gram cartridge can boil up to 10 liters of water!
