The Gossamer Gear Torso Foam Pad 3/8" offers a smart compromise between comfort, weight, and simplicity. It covers the most important part of the body—the torso—while you can use your backpack or other gear under your feet. This saves you hundreds of grams compared to a traditional sleeping pad without significantly sacrificing comfort.

Unlike the popular Thinlight 1/8", this pad offers three times the thickness, which better evens out uneven terrain and provides a more comfortable night’s sleep. Yet it still maintains an excellent weight—just 79 grams.

The closed-cell structure of the EVA foam does not absorb water, is easy to clean, and resists everyday wear and tear. The foldable design allows for quick packing into a backpack or attachment to the outside. Minor scratches or indentations from manufacturing may appear on the foam—these are purely cosmetic and do not affect functionality.

The Torso Foam Pad isn’t just for ultralight backpacking enthusiasts. It also works great as:
