The Fenix HM51R Ruby V3.0 rechargeable headlamp is the third generation of exceptional ultralight headlamps, delivering an impressive output of 860 lumens and a beam distance of up to 140 meters.

Detailed information

Product detailed description

The Fenix HM51R is back for the third time and has once again lived up to its reputation as one of the best headlamps in our lineup.

Limited Edition for the Czech Republic

Just like the previous versions, the V3.0 is a limited edition of headlamps intended exclusively for the Czech market. After years of experience with Fenix headlamps, the brand’s exclusive Czech representative had a model custom-built to meet customer requirements, and the result is a truly impressive product.

Fenix HM51R Ruby V3.0

Version 3.0 features a new, powerful second-generation SST-20-WS LED with a neutral light color temperature (4500 K), so it does not distort the color perception of the terrain  and a lifespan of 50,000 hours, as well as two red Everlight LEDs.& At full power, it has a beam distance of up to 140 meters.

The white light has 5 modes, which naturally affect battery life - 860 lumens (1.25 hours) -> 450 lumens (2 hours) -> 160 lumens (3.1 hours) -> 50 lumens (10 hours) -> 3 lumens (125 hours).

The red light has 4 modes. 10 lumens (45 hours) -> 1 lumen (75 hours) -> 10-lumen red flashing (76 hours) -> SOS 5 lumens (116 hours).

High-quality construction and thoughtful details

The headlamp is again mounted in a plastic holder, from which it can be easily removed and used as a handheld flashlight. Additionally, thanks to the magnetic tip, you can attach the light to any metal surface (car hood, etc.). The light can, of course, be rotated in any direction within the holder, and even during very intense running, it does not rotate on its own.

The headlamp body is made of a high-strength aerospace-grade aluminum alloy and is shockproof, dustproof, and waterproof to IP68 standard (up to 2 meters). Thanks to the materials used, it weighs a fantastic 84 grams, including the headband and battery! The headlamp strap is sufficiently wide and features several reflective elements. The strap is perforated for better sweat drainage from the forehead.

Multifunctional control button

A rubber switch is located on the side of the headlamp, which controls all functions. The switch also houses a battery status indicator light. After briefly pressing the switch, the battery status is displayed via a green or red light. If the indicator LED is green, the battery is charged to more than 85%. A green flashing light indicates 50–85% capacity. If it glows red, the battery is charged to 25–50%. A red flashing light indicates that less than 25% of the battery’s capacity remains. The indicator works correctly only with rechargeable RCR123A / 16340 batteries.

It is powered by a single rechargeable battery of the type RCR123A (included), which is recharged directly in the flashlight via a modern USB-C connector. Alternatively, a disposable lithium battery  CR123A (with a limited maximum output of 150 lumens).

Usage

The flashlight may come with a black insulating cap on the battery. Before first use, remove it from the battery.

  • When the headlamp is off, it turns on to the last used mode of white light by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.
  • When the headlamp is off, it turns on to the last used red light mode by quickly pressing the button twice.
  • When the headlamp is on, it turns off by holding the button for 0.5 seconds.

The very first version of the Fenix HM51R 1.0 headlamp was thoroughly tested by our resident photographer, water sports instructor, and rising social media star Jan Žďánský (@janzdansky). Once you scroll through his Instagram, you can read his observations here.

Dobrý den, chtěl bych se Vás zeptat, proč jste se rozhodli zařadit do svého výběru model Fenix HM51R (V2.0 a V3.0) a ne Fenix HM23 (V2.0). Fenix HM23 používá běžnější AA baterii namísto “foťákové” baterie u HM51R. S doporučovanou Li-Ion AA baterií s USB-C má vyšší výdrž o 4 h v režimu 50 lumenů (14 h vs 10 h) a docela překvapivě, v režimu 300 lumenů má výdrž 9 h, kdežto HM51R má v režimu 160 lumenů výdrž jen 3,1 h (údaje dle Kronium.cz). Pravda, nevýhodou je nižší maximální režim. Váhově se oba modely prakticky neliší (rozdíl je jen 2 g). Nemluvě o nižší ceně druhého modelu si myslím, že s větší výdrží v nejpoužívanějších režimech a s možností nouzově nahradit dobíjecí baterii obyčejnou tužkovou AA jde o atraktivnější volbu. Děkuji

Dobrý den, čelovka HM51 vyhovuje našim požadavkům o něco lépe i přes horší dostupnost méně běžné baterie. Velkou výhodou je konstantní světelný tok, zatímco HM23 je dle dostupných grafů po hodině provozu cca na polovině deklarovaných 300 lumenů.

The word "Fenix" has its roots in ancient mythology, and in Chinese culture it refers to "perfect things." That is why Fenix strives to produce perfect flashlights that boast exceptional performance and are crafted with the utmost precision.
