In developing this jacket, Rab drew on years of experience but with a distinctly innovative approach and, as has become standard in recent years, with the goal of minimizing its environmental impact. The result is a jacket that offers ample thermal comfort, wind resistance, exceptional freedom of movement, and a beautiful design and fit. A unique feature is the use of Pertex® Quantum® 3D Weave technology, which minimizes the need for stitching. As a result, there are no cold seams, the jacket is lighter, it doesn’t shed feathers, and the down can achieve full loft. The Pertex Quantum fabric used also offers high elasticity in all directions, maximizing freedom of movement. High breathability and a high-quality DWR finish are a given without the use of fluorocarbons. The jacket is filled with recycled down in collaboration with P.U.R.E. All collected down is washed, disinfected, and treated with a water-repellent finish by Nikwax.

Rab took the time to conduct a study confirming that recycling requires less water and energy consumption and has a lower carbon footprint than standard down processing. The used down is sorted in Italy, and P.U.R.E. is the only company with Global Recycling Standard certification. Technically, the jacket lacks nothing essential. The main YKK® Vislon® zipper is backed by a flap, and of course, it features chin protection. You can store whatever you need in two cleverly hidden pockets and, of course, warm your hands. The hood is minimalist in design, featuring only an elastic hem, yet it fits very well on the head. The elastic cuffs feature the same design. The bottom hem of the jacket can be easily cinched with an integrated drawcord. The Cubit is simply a versatile jacket that won’t let you down, whether you take it for an afternoon walk in the woods or a full-day hike in the mountains.
