The Rab Momentum Shorts are an updated version of the highly popular, ultra-lightweight shorts from the running collection.
Rab takes its environmental commitment very seriously and has already introduced a wide range of products made from recycled materials in recent years, thanks to which it is succeeding in fulfilling its commitment to becoming a climate-neutral company.
The main change in the Rab Momentum Shorts is the innovation of the very lightweight, functional, and proven Matrix™ fabric, which now features a fluorocarbon-free DWR finish. You may recognize this material (85% polyamide, 15% elastane) from, for example, our popular Borealis jacket.
Matrix features two-way stretch (it doesn’t restrict movement in any way), is quick-drying, and has the aforementioned water-resistant DWR finish, which easily withstands light rain. During prolonged rain, the material will of course get wet, but thanks to its lightness and high breathability, it dries very quickly.
The shorts feature an elastic waistband with an integrated drawcord and come with two side pockets lined with mesh. The rear zippered pocket (ideal for a phone, gels, or keys) is positioned further to the right compared to its predecessor; see the photo in the gallery. Rab has also thought of technical details in the form of reflective safety elements. In our team, these are among the most popular shorts for running and long treks.
