The Rab Talus Trail men's shorts are the most technical shorts in the Talus from the Skyline trail running collection in our lineup.  This piece is designed primarily for long-distance running in the mountains.

For running around the chimney, we would rather recommend the Talus Ultra or Talus Active. These are technical running shorts made from the proven Matrix™ Aero fabric (92 g/m²), which is perfectly suited for aerobic activities in the mountains. It is four-way stretch, breathable, and quick-drying. They also feature a water-repellent DWR finish (Rab now uses fluorocarbon-free DWR treatments) and an anti-odor treatment.

The inner, form-fitting liner is made of Flexile 100, which is extremely absorbent and excellently wicks moisture away from the body, keeping us dry even during maximum exertion. The inner leg openings feature silicone grips at the bottom hem to prevent them from riding up. For the Rab Talus Trail, they’ve chosen a deep, stretchy waistband for maximum comfort and seamless hems, eliminating the risk of chafing on long trails.

Overall, the pants are designed primarily for longer outings, as evidenced by their large storage capacity. They feature several tactical pockets for storing essentials—energy gels, snacks, a map, and a phone. At the waist, there is one large open mesh pocket on the front and one zippered pocket on the back. On the inside of the waistband, there is also a small security pocket for keys.

Each leg of the inner liner features one large mesh pocket, spacious enough even for bulkier phones.  These pants are best suited for trail running enthusiasts, participants in mountain marathons, and ultratrails.
