Base Layer - Syncrino Base

Rab is launching a new series of Syncrino Base base layers for the coming fall. These are the successors to the legendary Forge models, utilizing the proven material now known as Syncrino™ (53% polyester (32% recycled), 47% merino wool) 125 g/m². In developing this fiber, Rab has managed to uniquely weave merino wool into the synthetic fiber so that the wool is protected against abrasion.

Aside from the name, this is essentially the same shirt you’re used to: "“High-performance shirts with synthetic blends brought us to Rab years ago, and since then we’ve walked, run, and hiked thousands of kilometers across various continents in them. Despite the vast selection on the market, we have no reason to switch.”

Thanks to merino wool, thermal and insulating properties are preserved, as is odor resistance. The shirts are thus suitable for multi-day use. Unlike 100% merino, Rabu shirts dry just as quickly as synthetic shirts and are comfortable in all conditions. A thermal layer should fit snugly against the body to retain heat and prevent cold air from flowing underneath, but this T-shirt is also great for summer, worn on its own. In that case, it’s better to have it a bit looser for good ventilation. The T-shirts are soft and very comfortable against bare skin. Thanks to flat seams with minimal bulk, they don’t chafe anywhere. 

In recent years, Rab has been increasingly striving to minimize its impact on environment. This is another reason why Syncrino Base T-shirts are made from 32% recycled synthetic materials.
