The principle of the Vapor Barrier (VB for short) involves placing an impermeable layer as close to the skin as possible to prevent moisture from penetrating into the other layers. This system is used in very cold environments to preserve the insulating properties of the outer layers. You can read more about the VB principle in our article HERE.
Rab Vapour Barrier Socks are useful for multi-day hikes in freezing conditions, where keeping your boots and socks dry is vital.
Vapor barrier socks are worn either as a first layer directly against the skin, or as a mid-layer between a thin sock on the foot and another sock.
