The Rab Khroma 38 backpack is made from Spectra® fibers, which are up to 15 times stronger than steel relative to their weight. The material also features a HydroShield water-repellent finish. This construction makes the backpack highly resistant to weather conditions and mechanical abrasion. This is a larger version of the Rab Khroma 30.

Gear Attachment

The Khroma offers two options for attaching skis (sideways/diagonally) so they don’t restrict vertical movement. Thanks to the TRI-FLEX™ rear access panel, you can quickly and easily reach all your gear. Switching from skis to crampons will take just a moment. The backpack is, of course, equipped with a removable helmet holder on the outside and a simple system for attaching an ice axe.

Well-designed pockets

All zippers and pull tabs are designed for easy access to the pockets even while wearing gloves. An orange pull tab on the two-way zipper provides clear and quick access to the avalanche gear compartment. The shovel handle and avalanche probe can be stored in separate pouches. Several easily accessible pockets are available for storing additional gear such as ski goggles, climbing skins, etc.

High-quality straps and hip belt

The wide hip belt features a sufficiently sturdy and padded construction to ensure the backpack remains comfortable even under heavy loads. On the right side, there is a very spacious zippered pocket where you can conveniently store additional gear, a GPS, an energy bar, etc. On the left, there is a sturdy loop for attaching climbing gear. The shoulder straps are wide and well-padded for maximum comfort. The chest strap is height-adjustable, and the main buckle naturally includes an emergency whistle. The balance straps are also important, as they allow you to easily pull the backpack and its load closer to your center of gravity. The backpack is available in one back length—48 cm.
