We’ve never felt the need to experiment much with trekking poles. For many years, we’ve stuck with the tried-and-true Fizan Compact, which have accompanied us on the world’s longest treks...

However, there was one thing still missing from our lineup: collapsible poles that could be used for both trekking and trail running. That’s when the very popular Italian brand Gipron caught our eye. It’s no newcomer to the outdoor world—it actually has a 100-year tradition in this field!

Mont Blanc poles are made from a very lightweight yet strong aluminum alloy. All pole segments are simply connected by a cord, and when you want to join them, just pull the cord and easily lock it in place at the top of the handle. Sintered carbide ensures maximum durability of the pole tip.

The entire system for folding and unfolding the poles is reliable, and using them is really quick. You’ll especially appreciate this during longer mountain runs and ultra-trail races, where you use the poles on uphill sections and can fold them up in an instant to tuck into your running vest for flatter sections.

When folded, they are only 34 cm long, so they won’t stick out or get in your way.

With a fixed length of 125 cm, they are suitable for people up to 185 cm tall; otherwise, they will be too short. The vast majority of tarps in our selection can also be set up using them, so you’ll find them useful even on long treks.

A major advantage is the long handle, so you can grip the poles wherever you want, whether you’re going uphill or downhill. A classic wrist strap is also included, of course.

The poles come with a practical elastic sleeve.
