You’ve surely encountered this when filtering water. You try to scoop water from a shallow pool into your PET bottle, but no matter what you do, you can’t seem to fill it. You’ve had the same trouble with the collapsible bottle that came with your filter.

The solution is simple: the American brand CNOC Outdoors has come up with the highly successful Vecto collapsible bags, which feature a wide, top-opening spout similar to what we’re used to seeing on hydration packs. This allows you to scoop up water from anywhere without much trouble.

The bottle is soft and very packable, yet it is highly resistant to mechanical damage. At the bottom of the bottle is a classic spout with a universal 28mm PET thread.

There are several ways to use the bottle. It works well for drinking, carrying water, and thanks to its universal thread, it is also compatible with most water filters, such as the tried-and-true Sawyer. The top, sliding cap of the bag also features a loop for hanging. When you combine the bag with a filter and another bottle, you get an excellent gravity-fed system. Simply hang the bag with the filter somewhere and let the water filter freely into the second container. While the water is filtering, you can take your time setting up your tent, cooking, etc.

At the filter outlet, however, you must of course use a threaded adapter for an internal thread so that you can screw the second bottle onto the filter. This adapter is included as standard with Sawyer Micro filters. Alternatively, it can be purchased separately.

Unlike narrow-neck bottles, Vecto bottles are easier to clean and dry. Despite the soft material used, CNOC guarantees a load capacity of up to 100 kg! Of course, it also features a securely attached cap and a sliding top closure to prevent loss. Bottom line. The Vecto is definitely one of the best collapsible bottles on the market today.

Note: The TPU used to make the bag is a porous material and does not have a completely neutral odor out of the box; please clean and dry the bag before use.
