Unlike its heavier counterpart Nylon Tarp Poncho, this model is made of lighter 15D nylon and is also a few centimeters longer and wider. The poncho has a drawstring hood and is spacious enough to throw over a backpack; it’s also long enough to keep you completely protected from the rain.

All seams are double-stitched and, of course, taped. For shorter trips, the poncho can also be used as a shelter. It features 8 loops in the corners and center for a wide range of setup and tensioning options. It can be set up as a simple windbreak, a classic "A-frame" shelter, an emergency bivouac bag, an additional tent vestibule, or used as a roof over a hammock.

With its dimensions of 265 x 145 cm, the shelter can fit 2 people, but take this with a grain of salt, because due to the sloping walls, the covered area will naturally be much smaller.

If your primary use is as a poncho with occasional use as a shelter, this small and lightweight package will definitely meet your needs. It works great as a poncho and fulfills its role as a shelter in mild conditions. However, it cannot in any way replace classic tents or better-designed tarps, which withstand strong winds and rain perfectly.

For primary use as a shelter, we recommend the SMD Gatewood Cape, Deschutes or any other tent or tarp from our selection.
