Before we released the Nalehko Hayduke sweatshirt, we wanted to thoroughly test the prototype first. The best option for testing was the spring Hayduke Trail—arguably the toughest trail in the U.S. and perhaps even the world.

During the trek, our colleague Petr Damajka and Jakub Čech took turns testing the jacket, and Jakub later declared this jacket to be one of the best pieces of his trail gear. And it’s not really that surprising. When we develop something, we place a high emphasis on quality, the materials used, and, of course, minimalist design. Basically, you could say that thanks to our years of experience, we play it safe in most cases. We know exactly what we want to produce and how it should work.

The Hayduke hoodie weighs just 197 grams (size M) and yet offers excellent insulation and high mechanical durability. The foundation of the entire sweatshirt is a structured fabric, with a layer of merino wool on the inside protected by a combination of polyester and polyamide on the outside. Thanks to its mesh-like structure, the fabric wicks moisture away effectively and dries very quickly.

The overall cut and details of the sweatshirt are very minimalist. Don’t look for pockets or a hood on this sweatshirt. The zipper is short but perfectly sufficient for pulling it over your head. We placed great emphasis on the stand-up collar to ensure it adequately protects the neck without restricting movement.

Hayduke is essentially a hybrid between a T-shirt and a sweatshirt. However, it is primarily intended as a mid-layer, worn over a T-shirt. It has a wide range of uses; aside from long-distance treks and regular hiking, it is suitable for virtually all types of active movement.
