Rab has once again opted for a time-tested material for this year's new Modulus Hoody (W24/25) Thermic™. This time, it has a weight of 230 g/m², which places it among the heavier fleece.& nbsp;It is a classic fleece without an inner structure and is best suited as a mid-layer for less physically demanding to static activities in cold conditions. In warmer weather, of course, there’s nothing stopping you from wearing it as a classic outer sweatshirt.

Thermic™ fabric is soft, highly absorbent, and quick-drying. It effectively wicks away moisture during physical activity. It also offers decent resistance to abrasion and pilling. The cut is distinctly "slim-fit," does not restrict movement in any way, and pairs perfectly with other layers.

The hoodie has three zippered pockets—two classic ones on the sides and one on the left arm made of Matrix stretch fabric. The lower pockets are conveniently placed and accessible even when wearing a harness or a fastened hip belt. The pocket on the left sleeve is a nice addition for small items. The central zipper is YKK with a fleece flap and a chin guard at the top. The hood is designed to fit under a helmet, and thanks to its low profile, it works really well—it doesn’t pinch anywhere, etc.. The Matrix™ lining on the collar and hood helps prevent moisture from freezing in cold conditions. 

The Rab Modulus Hoody is certainly not Rab’s lightest fleece. Nor is it an ideal lightweight, packable layer for a layering system. It performs best as a mid-layer that you keep on throughout your activity and in situations where thermal comfort and durability are the priority. It’s perfect for downhill skiing, climbing, or hiking. Of course, it can also be used for more aerobically demanding activities like ski touring, but more so at a lower intensity.
