The Klymit Static V Short is a great option for your kids—or even for experienced adults who prefer a shorter sleeping pad. It extends roughly from your knees to your shoulders; you can place your backpack under your feet and use extra clothing as a pillow. This setup works perfectly well even on a multi-month trek.

Comfort and Efficiency

The innovative V-shaped chamber design with slightly raised side chambers ensures excellent comfort, reduced air movement within the chambers, and thus lower heat loss. The Static V Short is significantly wider than any competitor’s model, yet it remains lightweight and compact when packed. And all this at a very affordable price. You can inflate the mat with about 6–10 breaths, so less moisture will accumulate inside.

The inflation and deflation system is very cleverly designed. It uses two recessed valves. The inflation valve also has a check valve, ensuring no air escapes during inflation. When you want to deflate the mat, simply open the deflation valve and the mat deflates immediately. Simple and ingenious at the same time.

The Static V Short was designed using their patented “Body Mapping” technology—the V-shaped chambers ergonomically conform to the natural contours of your back when sleeping on your back, while the edge chambers provide support when rolling over and sleeping on your side, making the Static one of the most comfortable mats on the market for its weight. Try experimenting a bit with how much you inflate it. I find it most comfortable when it’s a little softer. Seasonal Use

Thermal resistance R = 1.3 is suitable for summer use. In colder weather, we recommend supplementing the mat with lightweight foam mat or aluminum mat. The guys at Klymit have won several awards for the innovative design of their products. 

We recommend placing Tyvek under every inflatable sleeping pad, as it significantly reduces the risk of punctures.
