Big Agnes Fly Creek UL Zip Quilt

The Big Agnes Fly Creek UL Zip Quilt with acomfort rating of 15°C (ISO 23537) is designed for summer use.  The sleeping bag is filled with 227 grams of premium goose down with a fill power of 850 fp and  is treated with DownTek™ PFC-Free technology. This technology improves insulation properties in wet conditions, enhances water repellency, and meets the standards of bluesign. It also features feather origin certification R.D.S.

As the name suggests, the Zip Quilt is equipped with a full-length zipper (with anti-snag protection). It can be used as a regular quilt, for example during the day or on warmer nights. At the same time, however, you can transform it into a classic closed sleeping bag in an instant. The FlipIt™ footbox with a sewn-in foot cover is also very well thought out. It functions like a traditional open quilt, but by flipping it inside out you create a closed sleeping bag footbox. Check out the video below :).  

The two-way long zipper also allows for effective temperature regulation. Four sewn-in loops are provided for securing it to a sleeping pad, but straps are not included.

Material

Both the outer and inner materials are ultra-light 10D ripstop nylon NetPlus® with a PFAS-free water-repellent finish. Combined with the down treatment, the sleeping bag holds up quite well even in light rain or drizzle. As with all down products we recommend using  dry bag to keep it dry. The material is lightweight yet durable, and it is made from recycled fishing nets, so its production has a minimal impact on the environment.

Construction

This is where BA’s innovation shines through, as the construction is very cleverly designed. Technology Big Agnes Signature Diamond Quilting.  Innovative quilting that improves down loft and minimizes down shift. It also uses fewer seams than classic quilted sleeping bags and again contributes slightly to the lower weight.

The Big Agnes Fly Creek UL Zip Quilt is a very well-designed, versatile summer zip quilt. A sleeping bag when you need it and a blanket when you don’t. We really appreciate its excellent compression; when packed, it’s a truly compact package. We’ll also throw in a compression sack and a large mesh bag for home storage between trips. 

The quilt is designed for people up to 183 cm tall.
