Six Moon Designs Skyscape Trekker
Code: ST-SM-TREKKERProduct detailed description
The Trekker now features new, reflective drawcords that create more space above your feet. The most significant change, however, is the addition of a second entrance to the tent. Ventilation has also been improved.
The Six Moon Designs Skyscape Trekker is the lighter sibling of the Scout. Identical in design, but by using high-strength, lightweight siliconized polyester, the weight has been reduced to under 800 g! That’s pretty impressive for a spacious ultralight tent. Yet you get everything you’re used to from a classic tent—it has a floor and is fully protected by a mosquito net against unwanted pests. Thanks to Skyscape, you can have a lightweight tent and still sleep with all the “comfort” you’re used to. The tent is quite large for a one-person ultralight; you can sit up and change clothes comfortably inside. And thanks to the support of two trekking poles, you don’t have to worry about strong winds either.
Both models Skyscape - Scout and Trekker are set up using two trekking poles approximately 115 cm long; the ridge line is slightly off-center, and the spreader pole that forms it ensures steeper walls in the living area, thereby providing more headroom when seated. Thanks to the two “spread-out” poles, the tent can withstand even the worst storms and snow when properly pitched.

Hybrid Construction
The Skyscape uses a hybrid double-wall construction—over 80% of the flysheet is separated by an inner mesh tent, which minimizes contact with the dew-covered flysheet. This design allows you to unzip and roll up the flysheet on both long sides of the tent—then you essentially sleep only under the mesh inner tent, enjoying unobstructed views, perfect ventilation, and the assurance that no bugs will bother you. When it starts to rain, simply release the rolled-up sides, zip up the two zippers, and in a minute you’re completely dry. As a fan of sleeping under the open sky, I think this is genius. In the summer, no one could get me into a stuffy, traditional tent anymore. The views and the gentle breeze are essential for me when I’m outdoors. Sure, there’s a narrow strip of the flysheet that isn’t separated by mesh, but you can easily avoid brushing against it—it’s worth it for the 2 kg weight savings compared to a classic tent. If you’re taller than 180 cm and worried your feet will rub against the flysheet, you can lift the flysheet above your feet—there’s a pull loop sewn in for this purpose. The tent has two large side entrances and a floor length of over 250 cm, so it’s not too small even for tall people.
Trekker Model
Both the flysheet and the floor of the Trekker are made of siliconized polyester—by far the most common material used in the production of ultralight tents and tarps. Even with its low weight, it is strong, lightweight, and mold-resistant. This comes in handy if you don’t set up the tent every day or, heaven forbid, pack it away while it’s damp and don’t realize it until a few days later. The floor is made of heavier-weight polyester, but we still recommend placing a Tyvek sheet underneath the tent. Tyvek is very useful when traveling because you can use it when you decide to sleep under the stars, or when you want to lie down somewhere by the water and don’t want to be rolling around in the dust, and it’s quite handy when hitchhiking, as you can write your destination on it. You just need to fold it a little differently, and you’ll have space for another message.
If you don’t want to use trekking poles to set up your tarp, you can purchase original poles.

The American brand Six Moon Designs is among the world’s absolute leaders in the development of ultralight tents and tarps. It’s no coincidence that everyone on our Nalehko team uses tarps from this very brand.
