The Cubit Parka is essentially a longer version of the Rab Cubit Stretch Down jacket. In developing this jacket, Rab drew on years of experience but with a distinctly innovative approach and, as has become standard in recent years, with the goal of minimizing its environmental footprint. The result is a jacket that offers sufficient thermal comfort, wind resistance, exceptional freedom of movement, and a beautiful design and fit.

A unique feature is the use of Pertex®Quantum® 3DWeave, which minimizes the need for stitching, ensuring there are no cold spots, making the jacket lighter, preventing down leakage, and allowing the down to achieve full loft. The Pertex Quantum fabric used also offers high elasticity in all directions, maximizing freedom of movement. High breathability and a high-quality DWR finish free of fluorocarbons are a given.

The jacket is filled with recycled down in collaboration with P.U.R.E. All collected down is washed, disinfected, and treated with a water-repellent finish from Nikwax. Rab took the time to conduct a study confirming that recycling requires less water and energy consumption and has a lower carbon footprint than standard down processing. The used down is sorted in Italy, and P.U.R.E. is the only company certified under the Global Recycling Standard.

Technically, the jacket lacks nothing essential. The main YKK® Vislon® zipper is a two-way zipper and is backed by a flap. Of course, chin protection is also included. You can store whatever you need in two cleverly hidden pockets and, of course, warm your hands. The hood has a minimalist design, featuring only an elastic hem, yet it fits very well on the head. Rab has used the same approach for the elastic cuffs.
