The Ultralight wizards from Rabu present this piece as their ultimate synthetic insulated jacket for multi-day mountain adventures. Essentially, it is a heavily "tuned" version of the popular Cirrus, specifically the Rab Cirrus Flex Hoody. Weighing in at 540 grams (size M), this is definitely an interesting piece for fans of synthetic insulation, or adventurers venturing into areas where down isn’t exactly ideal. The Rab Cirrus Ultra Hoody is packed with the latest technologies and materials, making it a perfect functional unit.

PrimaLoft® ThermoPlume®

The main insulation is the revolutionary PrimaLoft® ThermoPlume®, which currently comes closest to the thermal insulation properties of down. The fibers in this insulation vary in thickness and length, creating a loft similar to down. This helps trap warm air while allowing water vapor to pass freely. The jacket is therefore also suitable for more physically demanding activities. Just like other synthetic insulations, it does not lose its properties compared to down even after getting wet.

TILT - Thermo ionic Lining technology

Individual fabric fibers are coated with an extremely thin layer of titanium, which helps reflect the user’s body heat back to the body, thereby reducing  heat loss by up to 30%, without compromising the fabric’s breathability or adding a single gram to the jacket’s total weight. In this case, TILT technology is applied to the entire body of the jacket. 

Pertex® Quantum (Pro)

For us, in recent years, the best windproof material on the market. Lightweight, breathable, and sufficiently durable. In the vast majority of today’s high-quality down jackets and synthetic insulated jackets, you’ll find some variant of this brand. We also chose it (albeit in a more breathable version) for our own models Alpha Aspiring and Nalehko Neprofuk. For the outer material of the Rab Cirrus Ultra Hoody, Rab chose 20D Pertex® Quantum Pro (38g/m²), which has enhanced water resistance on its own. The jacket’s lining is made of 10D Pertex® Quantum (28g/m²). Both feature a fluorocarbon-free DWR water-repellent finish. 

Rab Cirrus Ultra Hoody The jacket fits perfectly, without bunching or pulling anywhere. The hood with a reinforced brim is fully adjustable and helmet-compatible (fits over a helmet). The central YKK® VISLON® zipper is two-way, with an insulated flap and chin guard. The jacket has a total of four zippered pockets — two on the arms, the left of which has a two-way zipper and a loop designed for rolling up the jacket, and two large chest pockets, all with YKK zippers. The bottom hem of the jacket, featuring a non-slip finish, is adjustable on both sides and easy to operate even while wearing gloves. The elastic cuffs are also designed for ease of movement while wearing gloves.   The Rab Cirrus Ultra Hoody is poised to become a true "game-changer" in the field of synthetic insulation.
