Rab Neutrino -12 °C – Women's Down Sleeping Bag
Code: QSN-19-ZDP-REG-LZProduct detailed description
The Rab Neutrino -12 °C down sleeping bag is an updated model from the new line of popular Neutrino down sleeping bags.
Rab is down
It has been over 50 years since Rab Carrington gained his first experience sewing down sleeping bags in Buenos Aires, Argentina. And it has been 45 years (2026) since the first sleeping bag under the Rab brand saw the light of day. Even in his very first model, Carrington incorporated his extensive experience from mountain climbs. Thanks in part to his good reputation within the close-knit climbing community, demand for his sleeping bags began to grow quite rapidly.
The goal was to create high-quality, lightweight, and warm sleeping bags that would perform well in the mountains. At the same time, he stuck to his motto:
“Nothing fancy or overly technical—just honest, functional pieces that you’d rather repair than replace. By climbers, for climbers”.
And we at Nalehko are very happy, that Rab is continuing in this direction even in the 21st century. Simply put, products you can 100% rely on while trekking, and that won’t let you down even in the most demanding conditions. During our adventures, we ourselves have used countless models from this iconic British brand, and we’ve always been completely satisfied.
And that is precisely why, just like the other products in our range, we are delighted to offer them to you, our customers.

Rab Neutrino -12°C
The main innovation is the use of the revolutionary L.O.F.T 3D™ chamber construction. These are offset, spiral-shaped chambers that prevent down migration and maximize heat retention. At the same time, they enable top-notch insulation properties while reducing the sleeping bag’s volume and weight.
Longitudinal baffles effectively retain heat around the torso. The side baffles eliminate cold spots and ensure that you won’t lie on a seam when sleeping on your side. At Rab, they really went the extra mile for us "side" sleepers this time. Below the collarbone, you’ll find two straps that let you turn comfortably even while wearing the sleeping bag. It’s a small detail, but fully functional and a real treat.
The Rab Neutrino -12°C has a drawstring hood that fits snugly around your head, and a down collar that wraps around your neck. The zipper is a top-of-the-line two-way YKK with an anti-snag tab and a collar to prevent heat loss.
The sleeping bag has a "wide" mummy shape with an anatomically shaped "foot box." The generous cut ensures greater comfort while sleeping, with plenty of room for leg movement.
Material
Rabu has opted for the proven Pertex® Quantum in two strategically placed weights and denier(s). The more durable 20D Pertex® Quantum 38g/m² (black) is used on the bottom and sides of the sleeping bag—in short, in areas in contact with the sleeping pad. Lighter 10D Pertex® Quantum 26g/m² (yellow) is used on the top and increases the loft of the down, packability, and at the same time reduces the total weight of the Rab Neutrino -12°C. It weighs a mere 1,050 grams.
A combo that makes sense and works. As is typical for Rab, it features a DWR water-repellent finish fluorocarbon-free. In the same vein, the sleeping bag’s lining is made of recycled 20D nylon, 38 g/m².
Premium down
And finally, the most important part. The Rab Neutrino -12°C is filled with premium European goose down with a fill power of 800FP. In the regular size, it contains exactly 600 grams. This ranks it among the genuine three-season sleeping bags. Grangers hydrophobic treatment (fluorocarbon-free, of course) combined with the outer fabric’s DWR coating provides solid water resistance for the entire sleeping bag.
The down traditionally comes with a R.D.S. certificate of origin. All Rab sleeping bags are hand-filled in Derbyshire, UK. Rab also guarantees that its down has never been compressed prior to use, thereby retaining its loft and resilience.

Temperature Limits
Temperature limits according to ISO 23537-2:2022 are: Comfort: -5°C, Limit: -12°C, Extreme: -33°C.
Of course, this should be taken with a grain of salt. We are all different, so the temperatures listed should be viewed more as a guide for choosing the right sleeping bag. The standard is based on the parameters of a standard man—25 years old, 173 cm, 73 kg —and a standard woman—25 years old, 160 cm, and 60 kg.
The temperatures listed represent a range derived from a series of measurements, starting from the upper temperature limit at which a person is able to sleep through the night without waking up up to the extreme temperature that determines the minimum temperature at which a person can survive.
A lot also depends on using a high-quality sleeping pad. In case of lower thermal resistance, we recommend using a foam sleeping pad, such as the proven Therm-a-rest Z-lite Sol.& nbsp;Thermal comfort can also be increased with a sleeping bag liner.
Our experience:
At Nalehko, we have personal experience sleeping comfortably at -10 °C. BUT!!!! This was a trained athlete in his prime ;-) well-fed, fully hydrated, properly warmed up/stretched and lounging on the ultimate sleeping pad Rab Hypersphere Ultra 7.5.
The Rab Neutrino -10 °C is a versatile sleeping bag that easily adapts to a wide range of activities, from long treks to rugged winter ascents. Lightweight, durable, super packable and eco-friendly. Yeah, that’s how we like it!
P.S.: Of course, you’ll get an ultralight compression bag for your trip, as well as a zippered storage bag with a waterproof bottom for home storage.
