For a one-person ultralight tent, it’s quite spacious—you can easily sit down and change clothes inside. And thanks to the support of two trekking poles, you don’t have to worry about strong winds either. Both models Skyscape - Scout and Trekker  are set up using two trekking poles approximately 115 cm long; the ridge pole is slightly off-center, and the spreader bar that forms it ensures steeper walls in the living area, providing more headroom when seated. Thanks to the two “spread-eagle” poles, the tent can withstand even the worst storms and snow when properly tensioned. Hybrid Construction

The Skyscape utilizes a hybrid double-wall construction—over 80% of the flysheet is separated by an inner mesh tent, which minimizes contact with the dew-covered flysheet. This design allows you to unzip and roll up the flysheet on both long sides of the tent—then you’re essentially sleeping only under the mesh inner tent, enjoying unobstructed views, perfect ventilation, and the guarantee that no bugs will bother you. When it starts to rain, just release the rolled-up sides, zip up the two zippers, and in a minute you’re completely dry. As a fan of sleeping under the open sky, I think this is genius. In the summer, no one could get me into a stuffy, traditional tent anymore. The views and the gentle breeze are essential for me when I’m outdoors. Sure, there’s a narrow strip of the flysheet that isn’t separated by mesh, but you can easily avoid rubbing against it—it’s worth it for the 2kg weight savings compared to a classic tent. If you’re taller than 180 cm and worried your feet will rub against the flysheet, you can lift the flysheet above your feet—there’s a pull loop sewn on for this purpose.

The tent has a large side entrance and a floor length of over 250 cm, so it’s not too small even for tall people.

Scout Model

Due to its price, the Scout’s flysheet and floor are made of 190T polyester—probably the most widely used material for tent manufacturing. While the material is heavier than silnylon, it is significantly cheaper and definitely more durable. This is especially useful for the floor. This makes the Scout the cheapest UL tent in its weight category. There’s no need to worry about polyester; on the contrary, compared to silnylon, it has the huge advantage of not sagging as much when wet.

The tent flysheet does not have taped seams!!! As with other UL tents and tarps, you’ll have to do this yourself. You can use this product for sealing. You can find the instructions here.& nbsp;It might be a hassle, but at least you’ll get to try setting up the tent and get to know it while taping it together. If this is an insurmountable problem for you, then you’re not ready for the ultralight approach and should look for your gear in a different category…

Ultralight is about knowing your gear and its limits, and treating and caring for it accordingly. If you don’t want to use trekking poles to set up your tarp, you can purchase original poles.
