The Nalehko Etalon Pants, together with our waterproof jacket Nalehko Etalon form the perfect ultralight yet durable waterproof set for the most demanding conditions.

Top-quality material

For these pants, we used the same material as in our Etalon jacket – Pertex  Shield, a premium 3-layer membrane composite with which we have many years of experience and in which we have complete confidence. The fabric weight, which combines 15D and 40D fibers (75 g/m²), offers the perfect blend of lightness and durability. In addition, it is slightly stretchy, soft, and packs down very well. The water column rating is 20,000 mm, offering excellent protection against rain.

The breathability of the material as stated by Pertex is 20,000+ g/m²/24 h. However, we have tested the material extensively, especially during more demanding physical activities, and it seems significantly more breathable to us. When we had the material tested at the Technical University of Liberec, this subjective impression was confirmed—the measured RET values were even better.

Top-of-the-line product

After two years of the Etalon jacket being on the market, we dare say that we have created one of the best ultralight jackets on the market. Hundreds of satisfied customers could attest to this. The same is true for the Etalon Pants, for which we also have high expectations, and those expectations are being met (author’s note regarding 2025).

Refined Fit

We put a lot of effort into the fit, and it took quite a while before we arrived at a version we were satisfied with. We adjusted the seat so that it doesn’t restrict movement when you need to squat. We also thought about the classic pocket design. We placed a small zippered pocket on the side that can hold a smartphone or other small items you want to keep handy. To make it easy to quickly "slip on" the pants over running shoes, there are zippers on the sides of the legs that extend all the way to the knees. This zipper is, of course, lined with a flap to prevent water from seeping in.

The overall fit is on the slimmer side, but there is still enough room to easily wear the pants over shorts, leggings, or lighter pants. If you have thighs like a rugby player, we recommend choosing the wider Rab Downpour Eco instead.

The Nalehko Etalon Pants are entirely designed by Nalehko and manufactured in the Czech Republic.

Care

Don’t be afraid to wash your membrane clothing, just don’t overdo it—less is sometimes more (i.e., wash less frequently and use less detergent).

For washing our Etalon Pants, we recommend, for example, Nikwax Tech Wash.

Do not wring out membrane garments and do not attempt to remove water by twisting them! This method can irreversibly damage any garment with a membrane. Simply let the water drip out of the hanging pants and let them air dry at room temperature.

Do not dry in direct sunlight, and do not leave them folded or "tossed" in a backpack for an unnecessarily long time.
