This is due to a combination of realistic temperature ratings, thoughtful design, proven materials, and an attractively priced product. The fact that all these quilts are incredibly lightweight probably goes without saying. The Accomplice model, just like the Enigma series, features a closed footbox that guarantees warmth for your feet. For colder temperatures, this is a better solution than various drawstrings. Well-filled chambers without zippers and cold seams simply insulate better. All Enlightened Equipment (EE) quilts are characterized by their “U”-shaped chambers when viewed from above with the quilt laid flat. On the body, the chambers run lengthwise, and at the feet, they run crosswise. This isn’t just a design choice; it serves an important function—when you toss and turn at night, the down in the chambers doesn’t shift to the sides, preventing “cold spots” where there’s no down.  To prevent the down from shifting within the long chambers when handling the quilt, several partitions are placed inside them to restrict the down’s movement.

Attaching to a sleeping pad

With this double quilt, securing it to the sleeping pads is handled very simply and functionally. A pair of flat elastic bands is used for attachment; these are also connected in the middle so that both sleeping pads stay together and don’t slip apart. If you have a double sleeping pad, don’t worry—elastic bands for large sleeping pads are also included. The elastic bands attach easily to the quilt using micro-buckles. These buckles are adjustable, so you can easily control how much space you leave around your body. Getting out of the quilt is a matter of seconds—just unclip one buckle and “step out.” Sleeping under a quilt is a bit different than in a sleeping bag. It gives you more freedom to move around while sleeping and to adjust the entire system to current temperatures—either by completely cocooning yourself or just loosely covering up while sticking your legs and arms out. On the other hand, you’ll need to fine-tune the elastic system and learn how to tuck yourself in properly so that no cold air seeps under the quilt when it’s freezing.

Drawstrings and Collar

The head area features a cleverly designed central dividing collar that prevents heat from escaping unnecessarily. Each person then has their own separate option to fasten it around the neck and tighten it with a drawstring. It is therefore up to the individual how much they want to “burrow in” or leave maximum space around the neck.

Dimensions

Enlightened Equipment offers double quilts in three length options (Regular, Long, XLong). To start with, we’re featuring the regular size, which is suitable for people up to 182 cm tall, but weighing well over 100 kg, as this quilt is very spacious anyway (quilt width 218 cm).

We also offer a version with a smaller amount of down Accomplice 30°F.
