Two years ago, Rab unveiled the nearly perfect Mythic 400 sleeping bag. However, the Rab Mythic Ultra 360 is a game-changer and a great example of what can be achieved through the relentless development of new technologies. Under normal circumstances, 360 grams of down wouldn’t be enough to provide this level of thermal comfort. However, Rab has developed Thermo Ionic Lining Technology (TILT), which lines the inside of the sleeping bag. In short, individual fabric fibers are coated with an extremely thin layer of titanium, which helps reflect the user’s radiated heat back to the body, thereby increasing thermal comfort without compromising the fabric’s breathability or increasing the overall weight of the sleeping bag. Laboratory testing showed that using TILT technology increased efficiency by up to 32% compared to a model with conventional fabric and the same amount of down. A thermal camera clearly shows that the outer temperature of a sleeping bag without TILT technology is 8°C warmer than that of the Mythic Ultra, confirming higher heat loss in a "traditional sleeping bag".

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better sleeping bag on the market with such an extremely low weight, thermal comfort, and technical sophistication. The Mythic Ultra 360 is perfect for any situation where every gram counts, yet you don’t want to compromise on comfort. The perfect choice for ultra-long treks, adventure races, and all kinds of mountaineering activities where speed, efficiency, and lightweight gear are top priorities! The sleeping bag’s outer shell is made from the lightest material currently in use — 7D nylon. Despite its low weight, it offers high strength, wind resistance, packability, and perfect breathability. The interior of the sleeping bag is made from the same 7D nylon, but enhanced with TILT technology. The fabric naturally features a top-of-the-line water-repellent DWR finish. Sleeping under the open sky and morning dew will therefore pose no problem for the sleeping bag. Despite its extremely low weight, the manufacturer has not compromised on space. On the contrary, slender individuals will revel in how much space there is inside, but even burly guys with broad shoulders and weighing 95 kg will fit in without any trouble!  To minimize weight as much as possible, the sleeping bag features “only” a half-length, two-way YKK zipper. However, this doesn’t pose any major difficulties, as the wider cut makes it easy to get into the sleeping bag anyway. Since 2019, Rab has been using a new, innovative design for all its sleeping bags, featuring V-shaped chambers instead of straight ones. This allows for full utilization of the down’s properties, prevents cold spots, and minimizes filling movement within the chambers. The down stays centered in the chambers, ensuring warmth retention throughout the night.

The sleeping bag is filled with the highest quality goose down featuring a Nikwax water-repellent treatment and a fill power of 900FP! This gives the sleeping bag an almost unreal, fluffy feel. The water-repellent treatment allows the down to better withstand moisture, dry faster, and regain its full loft. R.D.S. certification of the down’s origin is a given. Rab paid close attention to the technical details of the sleeping bag, which you’ll especially appreciate on cold nights in mountainous terrain. The sleeping bag features a perfect drawstring hood with an ergonomic collar. Both the hood and collar feel so fluffy that you’ll look forward to crawling into the sleeping bag. Comfort temperature is now measured by Rab according to the EN1357:2016 standard. Of course, we are all different, so the temperatures listed here should be taken more as a guide for choosing the right sleeping bag. The standard is based on the parameters of an average man—25 years old, 173 cm, 73 kg – and a standard woman – 25 years old, 160 cm, and 60 kg. The temperatures listed represent a range derived from a series of measurements, spanning from the upper temperature limit at which a person can sleep through the night without waking up to the extreme temperature that determines the minimum temperature at which a person can survive. Rab specifies comfort temperature (the ideal temperature you should use as a basis when choosing a sleeping bag), limit temperature  (the temperature at which an average man can remain at rest for 8 hours without waking up), extreme limit (this should be taken as a guide to how the sleeping bag would perform in an emergency situation, not as a recommended use case. It refers to the temperature at which an average woman can remain for 6 hours without risk of death from hypothermia). In addition, Rab specifies the so-called “Rab limit”, which is based on their own experience and that of athletes and is considered a reasonable limit for the usability of the sleeping bag.
