A very lightweight, easy-to-pack mosquito net. The ideal choice if you’re heading to tropical regions or areas with high mosquito populations. It’s so light and compact that you won’t even notice it’s in your backpack.

Personal experience

I packed it for my 3,600 km hike along the Czechoslovak border, and I couldn’t have done without it, especially in southern Slovakia. If you already own a tarp (a shelter without a floor), this mosquito net is the perfect addition. I paired it with the Gatewood Cape.

Easy to use

It’s very easy to use—just hook the plastic carabiner onto the top of the tarp and use the slider to adjust the height. There are loops in the corners where you can secure the mosquito net with tent stakes. What I like most is the option to pull the mosquito net down using a cord under the sleeping pad, so no other "ground-dwelling" pests can get in. I often used the mosquito net even when sleeping under the open sky, where I simply hooked it onto the nearest branch and draped it over myself.

Space

With dimensions of 1.2 x 2.2 x 1 m, it’s spacious enough; plus, the suspension point is offset above your head for even more room, so you won’t end up with the net “stuck” to your face. The only drawback I found was that you have to handle it a bit more carefully in coniferous forests, because small twigs tend to get caught in the mesh, which could tear the mosquito net.
