Waterproof clothing requires special care and attention to properly maintain its water resistance and breathability. In addition to the breathability of the membrane, the breathability of the outer fabric must also be maintained.

This task involves two steps – 1) cleaning everything 2) restoring the fabric’s water resistance with a DWR treatment. If the fabric immediately soaks up water and then takes a long time to dry, it will hardly be breathable…  It needs to be waterproofed. TX. Direct Spray-On: If your jacket has a lining designed not only for thermal insulation but also to wick body moisture outward—as in the Rab Vapor Rise or Rab Alpha Direct jackets—you must use TX Direct Spray-On (with a mechanical sprayer) to apply the waterproofing only to the outside! If you treat/soak the entire jacket in the product, the lining will become waterproof and will not wick moisture properly!
