The Rab Borealis Jacket has become perhaps the most popular piece of clothing from this British brand in recent years. It’s made from lightweight, densely woven Matrix™ stretch fabric, which offers excellent freedom of movement, wind protection, and fantastic breathability.
If you’re constantly fiddling with layers, this is a great choice. Thanks to its amazing breathability, it’s suitable for active pursuits in the mountains, cross-country skiing, trail running, cycling, climbing, via ferrata, and more. It’s lightweight and packs down easily, so you won’t even notice it in your backpack. It can even be packed into a pocket and hooked onto a loop on your harness. As a softshell, it will of course get wet, but it can handle light rain and, most importantly, dries quickly!
The previous men’s models—Ventus and Boreas—are used by the entire Nalehko team for all outdoor activities such as cross-country skiing, running, cycling, and more. For cooler spring and fall days, pairing it with a merino T-shirt is enough. In winter frosts, it can easily be combined with a thin fleece like Ascendor Light or Nexus, and you’ll be comfortable even on long, high-intensity runs.
With the Borealis, there’s no risk of you getting soaked in your own sweat. The cut is almost identical to the previous Lunar model. The jacket packs down into a pocket, which also features a loop for attaching it to a harness, for example.
