Like its predecessor, we recommend the Rab Cirrus Flex 2.0 Hoody primarily for situations where down wouldn’t be practical. This includes high-intensity aerobic activity in cold conditions or spending time in cold, damp, and rainy environments. In short, anywhere we need to stay warm and where there is a risk of the down getting wet and losing its insulating properties.
For the updated 2.0 version of the Cirrus Flex Hoody at Rabu, they chose top-of-the-line PrimaLoft® Silver Luxe Insulation (110 g in size L). This quick-drying insulation offers an excellent balance of weight, breathability, and insulating properties that remain effective even when wet. This makes it exceptionally practical for use in damp and variable conditions. For even better thermoregulation during intense activities and to ensure maximum freedom of movement, the jacket features breathable Thermic panels on the sides and lower sleeves. This combination “breathes” wonderfully and keeps us warm both when moving and when we stop and stop “heating up” the jacket.
For the outer shell of the Rabu, they chose the proven and 100% recycled Pertex Quantum 20D fabric, which offers an ideal balance of weight, breathability, and wind resistance. The lining is also 100% recycled, made from 20D Atmos ripstop fabric weighing 41 g/m². The hood design is definitely worth mentioning; it is designed to fit under a helmet and is a clever combination of outer Pertex Quantum, PrimaLoft® Silver sheet insulation, and breathable, flexible Thermi elastic panels for maximum comfort, insulation, and freedom of head movement.
This entire combination of warmth and wind resistance still weighs a reasonable 366 g in size M and packs down into the left pocket into a compact bundle. Suitable for a wide range of outdoor activities, whether as a top layer thrown over a T-shirt during intense summer outings, or as a classic mid-layer for winter adventures.
If you're unsure about choosing a mid-layer, we've prepared a guide for you NALEHKO guide – How to choose a mid-layer.
We now also offer an updated version of the Rab Cirrus Flex 3.0.
For vest lovers, we also offer the Rab Cirrus Flex Vest 3.0.
